Get me registered!

Sabumnim James Espy has been a student of martial arts for almost thirty years and has taught since 1994.  He is the founder and head instructor of Traditional Martial Arts Academy in Austin, TX, as well as the founder of Pyon Moo Do martial arts system.

He has spent much of his life seeking realistic combat applications in training.  Over the years, Mr. Espy has earned Black Belts in Tukong Moosul, Shotokan Karate-Do, Danzan Ryu Jujitsu and Hwa Rang Do, and has had extensive training in Filipino and Chinese arts.  Additionally, he is a committed researcher in the field of education (his new book, “Kyo Sah Do—The Art of Teaching,” is due soon).  This combination of experience, along with his sense of humor and passion for training, makes his seminars exciting, challenging and fun.
